VESSEL

VESSEL is an interactive installation that gives form to one year of Seoul’s living-mobility data. Rather than depicting the city through its streets or landmarks, it reveals the everyday movement of people between and within its districts as a changing, three-dimensional sculpture.

Each district is composed of incoming, outgoing, and internal flows. The number of people, type of movement, and travel speed shape the form and motion of its elements. Across the installation, these individual flows gather into the larger rhythms of the city.

A touchpad lets visitors move between districts and through the year. When a visitor places a finger on the pulse sensor, each heartbeat advances the data by one day. The body becomes a means of navigating the city, connecting an individual rhythm to its collective circulation. VESSEL was exhibited at YDP Art Square, Seoul, in 2026 and has been accepted for the VISAP 2026 Art Track.
