TREMOR

TREMOR is an interactive audiovisual installation about the unstable, ongoing work of peace. It draws on 2,144 agreements across 175 peace processes in the PA-X database, following how negotiations advance, return to earlier stages, and begin again.

Each process becomes a suspended form whose position, movement, and sound are shaped by its history. The forms occupy a luminous vertical chamber above a field of selectable locations, making patterns of change and recurrence visible without presenting peace as a finished state.

Visitors use a touchpad to activate individual processes or hear several together. As more are selected, their movements and tones overlap, revealing the complexity that a single image of an agreement can conceal.
